8:40am – Gates open: all classes have a range of morning activities happening as children arrive at school
The main school gates are open at 8:40 where there is always a member of staff on duty.
All year groups enter their classroom from the external door leading into it.
8:50am – School starts and the gates are closed
Phonics and spelling groups happen across school at this early time so being in school on time is really important.
10.45am and 11:00am – Break time
Classes from Year 1 to Year 6 all enjoy a 15-minute playtime outdoors. With our great facilities, all children have the opportunity to be active, play and meet with friends.
11:40am – Lunch starts – all classes have 50 minutes
Nursery and Reception go first, followed by KS1, finishing with KS2. KS2 classes go out onto the playground and are then called in by the Midday Supervisors for their lunch.
12:50pm – Afternoon session begins for KS1, followed by LKS2 at 1pm, then UKS2 at 1. 05pm.Children have a range of different lessons during the afternoons including Science, French, History, Geography, Art, D.T, PE, Computing, Music R.E and PSHE.
2.55pm – 3.10pm – Assembly
Throughout the week we have a range of different assemblies that children attend including singing, celebrating British Values, PSHE topics and celebrating children who have shown our school values in action during our celebration assembly on a Friday. On a Thursday, we run our ‘pupil voice’ sessions throughout school, where Y6 leaders discuss a range of topics with younger children and lead the sessions.
3:15pm – Home time routine begins
Main gates are opened for parents
3:20pm – Home time
All children are collected by their adult. Children are collected from the door they entered school through. With prior permission, children from Year 5 upwards are permitted to walk home.
If children are attending an After School Club, they are collected by the club leader and are supervised by staff.
The school day/week comprises 6.5 hours per day, 32.5 hours per week.
