Welcome to the Guardians Class! We are very pleased to welcome you and are looking forward to a positive and successful year together, with lots of opportunities for learning, new experiences and achievement.
Meet the Team
Mrs Johnson is the class teacher, supported by Mrs Mulraine and Miss Scott, our teaching assistants. We work together to provide a happy, supportive and inclusive classroom where children feel confident to challenge themselves, develop their independence and achieve their best.
Our Curriculum
Throughout the year, children will take part in a varied and engaging curriculum designed to develop their knowledge, skills and curiosity. They will explore the past through History, investigate the world around them in Science and Geography, and continue to build their skills across all areas of the curriculum.

Physical Education
Our PE days are Monday and Friday. Children should bring their full PE kit to school and will get changed at school before their PE lesson. Please ensure that all items of PE kit are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Across the year, pupils will experience a range of sports and physical activities, helping them to develop their fitness, coordination, teamwork and confidence.
Homework
Homework is set each Monday and should be completed and returned by Friday. This will include regular opportunities to practise key skills such as reading, spelling and times tables. Your support in encouraging positive routines at home is greatly appreciated.
Year 6 SATs
During Year 6, pupils will work towards their SATs assessments in May. Preparation will be carefully built into our learning throughout the year, with a focus on strengthening knowledge and skills in Reading, Mathematics and SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar).
We aim to ensure that children approach their assessments feeling confident, prepared and proud of the progress they have made.
