In PJ Masks, our Nursery and Reception children learn and grow together in a warm, nurturing, and stimulating mixed-age Early Years classroom. We pride ourselves on creating a kind and caring environment where every child feels valued, supported, and safe.
Our mixed class allows younger children to be inspired by their older peers, while Reception children develop confidence and independence as positive role models. This approach supports strong friendships, empathy, and social development across the age range.
Through play-based exploration and personalised learning, we build strong foundations in early literacy, numeracy, and life skills—always putting the needs and well-being of the child at the heart of everything we do.
As proud members of Cumbria Education Trust, we reflect the Trust’s values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience in our everyday practice. Our Early Years team is passionate about helping every child thrive and develop a lifelong love of learning, right from the very start of their school journey.
We work in partnership with home, and use the platform Class DoJo to regularly share updates with parents on their child’s activities they have taken part in.
Children in our Class are looked after by a dedicated team of highly qualified early years staff, Mrs Gisborne (Class Teacher) Miss Cowan, Mr Palou and Reay (Class Teaching Assistants) who all nurture each child to feel comfortable, confident and a valued part of the Caldew Lea’s family.
