Dear Parents & Carers,
I hope you have all had a lovely summer holiday and enjoyed some good weather (some of the time!) and some quality time together with your children. We are extremely excited to be welcoming the children back on Wednesday; their teachers have some really exciting learning planned for the children this term – we will as always keep you updated on all our activities via Facebook and the website.
A few reminders of our expectations:
School gates will continue to be opened at 8.40am and our firm expectation is that all children will be ready to learn in their classrooms by 9am. I am very proud of the huge progress we have made in improving attendance and punctuality at Caldew Lea over the last 3 years; good school attendance is absolutely crucial in ensuring we give our children the best possible life chances and educational experience.
Our firm expectation is that children will come to school in correct school uniform throughout the school year: joggers, leggings and trainers are for PE lessons only. ALL children are expected to wear school trousers or skirts/pinafores and black shoes. Make-up, jewellery and elaborate accessories are absolutely not permitted, We are more than happy to provide parents who are struggling with any spare pre-loved uniform we have in stock. Please get in touch via the school office if you would like some help with this.
We are constantly looking at ways to involve parents and carers in school life and this year we will be holding a number of workshops to involve you in the life of the school, ranging from supporting reading, celebration assemblies and managing behaviour positively – amongst many others! Again, our firm expectation is that parents and carers will support us fully in ensuring that we have a genuine parent partnership in creating a happy, positive school environment.
As always, we welcome your comments, feedback and involvement in any and every aspect of school life. The school office is open tomorrow for any enquiries you may have.
See you Wednesday!
Miss Weston
